what’s new,

Wollongong will have a new dedicated afternoon radio show starting next week, when ABC launches its Illawarra Drive program. Well-known broadcaster Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall will be the man behind the microphone for the new show, which airs weekdays between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. starting next Monday. McDougall is no stranger to ABC, having been part of his triple J family for 10 years. He joined the triple J in 2005, hosting breakfast with band member Frenzal Rhomb Jay Whalley, and later with Myf Warhurst. He then hosted his own show Drive before leaving ABC in 2015. McDougall will be joined by ABC producers Rory McDonald, ABC’s content director for seven years, and Jack Cupitt. ; In October, the ABC announced that Wollongong would be one of 19 regional radio stations to be broadcast via mobile and online by March.
