CITY OF CEBU (PNA) – The Philippine News Agency (PIA) in the Central Visayas has announced its new weekly radio program dubbed âKasayuranâ with DYAR Sonshine Radio Cebu which will focus on the government’s peace and development initiatives.
The hour-long radio program will initially air on September 23, then every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and will be hosted by Jimrey Biosa and co-hosted by PIA-7.
âThis is another platform for communicating important government pleas such as the Covid-19 initiatives as we move towards the recovery phase amid the pandemic and the end of the local communist armed conflict or ELCAC, a long-term goal of the government to achieve lasting peace for development to flourish fully, especially in affected areas, âFayette Riñen, regional director of PIA-7, said in a statement.
PIA-7 and DYAR recently signed the agreement for the latter to help provide the channel for disseminating the government’s communication imperatives on peace and development.
DYAR Sonshine Cebu, for more than five years now, has given free weekly airtime to PIA-7 in its Saturday program titled “Serbisyo Para sa Masa” where the agency facilitates the guest of heads of regional agencies and local government units to promote their programs and services.
“We are happy to welcome PIA, a long-standing partner, as we have the same objectives which are to inform and educate the public, especially on issues that affect their general well-being,” said Biosa, who is also the manager of DYAR station.
Secretary Martin Andanar of the Presidential Office of Communications Operations (PCOO) praised the partnership in a video message, stating that âthe program should be used as a vehicle of knowledge, for knowledge and through knowledge and emphasizes the core principles of the dissemination of information in tandem with the truth. this must be known, especially in a world polluted by lies, prejudices and lies.
Andanar said it is important to educate the public on what the government is doing as it tries to mitigate the continued impact of the Covid-19 pandemic through the two important bills that have been passed. – Bayanihan 1 and Bayanihan 2.
The Bayanihans 1 and 2 detailed the measures from the emergency and response phase to the recovery and rehabilitation phase which includes the financial recovery of micro, small and medium enterprises, he added.
The PCOO chief said that the current administration continues to address other equally important concerns such as the war on illegal drugs, crime and corruption as well as terrorism, but on the other hand, is accelerating efforts to development by implementing its âBuild, Build,â Build âprogram.
âKasayuranâ will be broadcast live on the official Facebook pages of PIA-7 (Central Visayas to Rise as One) and DYAR.
