Ashiana Khan, CEO of Media Waves Communications, which produces an internet radio show in Surrey, told Postmedia News she was driving near 176th Street and the Fraser Highway at 11 p.m. Saturday when she was victimized of a car shooting.

“Due to the police investigation, I can only confirm that yes, my vehicle was hit,” Khan said on Sunday.

Khan said she was not injured but immediately called the police. Her car was towed away by police and an investigation is ongoing, she said. Surrey RCMP did not respond to Postmedia calls on Sunday.

“I was very shaken, very scared, but I’m very strong and I got out of it.”

Khan is in the fourth year of his morning talk show on the Internet station. She says she speaks candidly about Surrey issues, politics and issues affecting the South Asian community. She helped organize a rally in June after two teenagers were fatally shot

She said her show was “full of truths and facts” and that there were people who took offense at her opinions.

“Whatever happens, if there is something wrong, I’m very frank about it,” Khan said. “Right now there are so many issues that I am discussing. It makes me an enemy to a lot of people.

Khan said she would report to work for her show as scheduled Monday at 7 a.m.

When she signed on Friday, she told her audience she would discuss how two men from British Columbia – both with criminal backgrounds – had received security clearance to attend the Muslim celebration of Eid ul Fitr on Parliament Hill earlier this month. She didn’t want to identify the men by name.

She said when she airs on Monday her message will be to not back down.

“I think it’s time for the community to wake up and come together. We have to be very strong, ”she said. “We have to make sure things like that (shooting) aren’t going to stop us. We are not going to be afraid.
