America’s Best Radio Company Refocuses on “Common Needs”

In an advertisement distributed to certain trade publications and posted on its Investor Relations webpage, iHeartMedia revealed “a new organizational structure for its group of markets”.

As first reported by Streamline Publishing Radio ink, jobs will be lost. The exact number is unknown, but 18 prominent names were already public by mid-afternoon Tuesday.

At the top is IHeartMedia Markets Group President Greg Ashlock, who will continue to lead the operation.

Under Ashlock are four divisions, including a newly created one.

The first one described by iHeart in the announcement, which the company has not distributed over commercial networks and only through its own mailing list, is the “Regional Division”.

This includes the company’s largest markets, including New York and Los Angeles. This division will be headed by the division presidents Kevin legrett and Scott Hopeck.

LeGrett is currently President of the Los Angeles Market; Hopek is the president of the New York market.

Then there is a “Metro division”, made up of mid-sized markets and headed by division presidents. Tom McConnell, Tony Coles and Linda Byrd.

McConnell headed the Midwest / Southeast division of iHeart, while industry veteran Coles is an executive vice president / programming who joined the company in January 2004 after successfully programming KRWM-FM and KLSY-FM at Seattle for four and a half years.

Byrd is an Orlando-based Division President and has overseen Central Florida for iHeart and its predecessor Clear Channel since 1999.

Logically, these changes result in the creation of a “community division”, which, according to iHeart, “includes markets that focus on the common needs of a community and a commercial area for most businesses and advertisers” . It will also group the markets in “geographically close and culturally similar” areas.

The community division will be led by the division presidents Shosh Abromovich, in Detroit and Toledo, Ohio; President of the Philadelphia region Nick gnau and Dan Lankford, who is president of iHeart’s Allentown and Harrisburg, PA stations.

The community division appointments provide insight into some of the consolidations that Radio ink is likely to come. For example, Denver and Fort Collins-Greeley could combine their forces.

Finally, iHeart is creating a new division that covers all markets – the Multi-Market Partnerships (MMP) division.

This will be led by Julie donohue, who is elevated to the post of president of MMP with responsibility for this company. She has been based in Chicago since 2015, focusing on these tasks for stations iHeart owns and operates in the country’s No.3 market.

What this means for iHeart’s Integrated Revenue Strategies group, led by the president Hartley adkins?

He merged into the iHeartMedia Markets group, with Adkins taking on the role of COO of the Markets group, working closely with Ashlock.

Meanwhile, iHeart’s AI and technology-based “centers of excellence”, which the company says “consolidate functional areas of expertise in specific locations”, will be used in all markets. .
